Hi everyone,
Just a small topic today.
If you are going to Japan it's good to know a little of their language because with just English it'll be difficult. Japanese are learning English at school but they are just workin in textbooks while the teacher talks to them, so most of them are able to understand English but can't speak it.
To learn Japanese all by your self is a little difficult and takes a long time, so i recommend you to get a Tandem partner.
Shared Talk is a good site to find those.
The Sideeffect of this is, that you'll find some people to show you Japan behind the scenes for sure.

Heute nur ein kleiner Punkt.
Wenn ihr nach Japan fahrt, wäre es gut, wenn ihr ein bisschen Japanisch sprecht und versteht, weil ihr mit Englisch nicht weit kommt. Japaner lernen zwar Englisch in der Schule, doch nur in Büchern, während der Lehrer redet. Die meisten Japaner verstehen also Englisch können es aber nicht sprechen. Sich Japanisch ganz alleine beizubringen dauert lange und ist ziemlich anstrengend, deshalb ist es gut wenn man einen Tandem partner hat.
Shared Talk ist eine super Seite um solche zu finden.
Es hat den guten Nebeneffekt, dass ihr mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit auch Leute kennen lernt die euch Japan hinter den Kulissen zeigen können.

Hostel booking
Hi everyone,
Let's get back to the main Topic.
Preperations for a Journey to Japan.
After we set up an shedule where we want to go and so on we started looking for Hostels.
I recommend everyone to look at some Hostel sites to read the Comments of other People who stayed at the Hostel you chose.
Nachdem wir alles geplant hatten, wohin wir genau wollen und so, fingen wir an nach Hostels zu suchen. Ich rate jedem der in einem Hostel übernachten will auf Hostelseiten zu gehen und sich die Kommentare anderer durchzulesen, die bereits in diesem Hostel übernachtet haben.

Nezumi und ich haben und für drei Hostels entschieden die die besten Reviews bekommen haben.
1. Aizuya Inn
This Hostel is a little outside of Tokyo, so who likes to sleep tight at night is right here. There are some Supermarkets, a Bar and a bike rental outlet nearby, and who is reliant on bus and train has to walk about 10 minutes in any direction to get to the next station.
Dieses Hostel ist etwas außerhalb von Tokyo, wer also gern ruhig schläft ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Es gibt in der Nähe Supermärkte eine Bar einen Fahrradverleih und wer auf Bus und Bahn angewiesen ist (wie wir) läuft in jede Richtung höchstens 10 Minuten bis zum nächsten Haltepunkt.

2. Nikko Park Lodge
For our two days long stay at Nikko we booked this Hostel. Unfortunately it is in western style but hey, you can't get everything. The prices are fair and we know out of reviews that the staff is very friendly.
Für unseren zweitägigen Aufenthalt in Nikko haben wir dieses Hostel gebucht. Es ist im leider im westlichen Stil, aber man kann ja nicht alles haben. Die Preise sind fair und aus Erfahrungsberichten wissen wir, dass das Personal sehr Freundlich ist.

3. J-Hoppers Osaka
For our last stop we booked this Hostel. The staff is also very kind and partial english speaking. Again the rooms are very cute.
Für unsere letzte Station in Osaka haben wir dieses Hostel gebucht. Auch hier ist das Personal sehr Freundlich und spricht teilweise Englisch. Die Räume sind auch sehr hübsch.

Wagashi recipe
Hi everybody,
By the way.
Do you know Wagashi?
Japanese sweets you eat at a tea ceromony.
So beautiful.
I'm just making some.
Here is the recipe
Gyûhi
100 g Klebreismehl (I don't know the english word. It's flour of sticking rice)
100g Zucker (Sugar)
100ml Wasser (Water)
Kartoffelstärke (potatoe starch)
You have to resolve the Sugar in the Water by low temperature.
Then you have to slooowly mix in the flour. Be careful there are no glots.
Agitate it untill it builds long filaments.
Then put it into a bowl or a plate strewed with potatoe starch.
Let it cool down.
Ready.
Löst den Zucker bei niedriger Temperatur komplett im Wasser auf.
Dann rührt ihr laaanngsam das Klebreismehl unter. Aufpassen, dass sich keine Klümpchen bilden. Rührt das ganze bis es lange Fäden zieht.
Dann füllt ihr es in eine Schüssel oder einen Teller der mit Kartoffelstärke bestreut ist.
Auskühlen lassen.
Fertig.
Shiroan
250g Weiße Bohnen (Butter Beans)
100g Zucker (Sugar)
1pr Salz (A pinch of Salt)
Wasser (Water)
You have to inlay the butter beans in Water for about 12 hours. Do it over night. ^^
Then cook it and remove the foam the beans are building until there is no new foam coming. (about 5 minutes)
Let them cook for about 45 - 50 minutes so they get soft.
Then crush the beans (push them through a colander).
Pour the bean paste on a clean towel. Squeeze out all of the water.
Put the paste into the pot and ad Sugar and Salt. Mix it efficiently until the Sugar and the Salt disappear.
Let it cool down.
Ready.
Legt die weißen Bohnen über nacht (etwa 12 std.) in Wasser ein.
Kocht sie und hebt den Schaum ab bis sich keiner mehr bildet (ca. 5 min).
Dann kocht ihr die Bohnen etwa 45 - 50 minuten weich.
Schüttet sie aus dem Topf in ein Sieb und drückt sie dadurch in ein sauberes Handtuch.
Wenn ihr kein Sieb mit so kleinen Löchern habt könnt ihr sie auch so zerdrücken.
Presst mit dem Handtuch das ganze wasser aus der Bohnenpaste.
Tut sie dann in einen Topf und fügt salz und Zucker hinzu. Rührt das Ganze bis Salz und Zucker sich aufgelöst haben.
Abkühlen lassen.
Fertig.
Nerikiri
150 g Shiroan
10 g Gyûhi
Cook the Shiroan till they are soft then ad the Gyûhi until it totaly admixed.
Let it cool down again.
Ready.
KKocht die Shiroan bis sie weich sind und vermischt sie gründlich mit dem Gyûhi.
Lasst es abkühlen.
Und fertig.
Now you got the dough for your Wagashi.
Jetzt habt ihr den Teig für eure Wagashi.
Just buy red bean paste (sweetened) for the charge.
Jetzt müsst ihr nur noch rote Bohnenpaste (gesüßt), für die Füllung kaufen.

First preperations - The Flight -
Hi there,
Our preperations are done already so here are the first preperation advices.
-It is good to plan you Journey about at least a half year before you go to Japan. You'll wonder how much there is to be planed. So if you want to avoid stress get started as early as possible.
Wir sind schon fertig mit allen Vorbereitungen, hier kommen die ersten Tips für die Vorbereitung.
- Es ist am besten mit der Planung ein halbes Jahr vor der Reise anzufangen, wenn ihr Stress vermeiden wollt, denn es gibt viel mehr zu planen als man so denkt.
Arrival date: 21st May
Departure date: 13th June
Go as early as possible to the nearest tourist agency and gather information about the flights, because they'll get more and more expensive with each day you wait.
We had luck.
We booked our flights late but got a good price.
But don't depend on Luck. Flights to Japan can get really expensive.
If they try to sell you a Flight for 1000 € per person you're getting screwed.
We paid about 560€ per person for round trip.
Geht so früh wie möglich zum nächsten Reisebüro und informiert euch über die Flüge, denn die werden mit jedem Tag den ihr wartet teurer und teurer.
Wir hatten Glück.
Wir haben unsere Flugtickets erst spät gebucht und trotzdem einen guten Preis bekommen.
Aber verlasst euch besser nicht aufs Glück denn ein Flug nach Japan kann sehr teuer werden.
Wenn die im Reisebüro versuchen euch einen Flug für um die 1000 Euro pro Person zu verkaufen ist das reine Abzocke. Lasst euch nicht abschrecken.
Wir habeen 560 Euro pro Person bezahlt, inkl. Rückflug.

Wir reisen mit der British Arways wir sagen euch wie es war wenn wir den Hinflug überlebt haben.
